Corn drying in the Fields.
Celina next to the tall, tall corn.
Walking to the farm to check out what they have.
Beautiful fall colors.
The farm was selling pumpkins and hot dogs.
We purchased some honey that was made from the bee hives on the hill behind the table.
The farmers wife makes her own pottery and was selling it. This was her outdoor Kiln (not sure that is correct?).
The bee hives on the hill.
The Red House where all the pottery is made.
We all got to go inside to see the studio where the pottery was made.
There were other crafts people made, jewelry, baskets, paintings, photography, clothes all from farms around in the area.
Steve taking a break near these beautiful rose bushes.
I took some time and talked to these local women making baskets. We asked a few questions and found out that baskets of all kinds have to be hand made. They can not be made by any machine. We also got a little lesson on how to make a basket and what type of branches to use on a willow. The women in the middle making the basket learned to make them from just checking out a book at the library.
I loved this photo taken by a young guy that lives in the area. He was the one who told me that it's best to take photos right before the sun rises or sets. He doesn't bother taking photos during the day when the light is too harsh. He kept the shutter open for 30 seconds with this photo and most he takes. The camera is set on a tripod. This was just one of many great photos taken by such a young guy. I'll have to try this sometime.
